Editorial Standards
How we report, source, disclose, and correct. Last updated: May 17, 2026.
Our Editorial Commitment
NewsAnarchist is an independent investigative publication. We are not affiliated with any political party, government, or corporate interest. Our only obligation is accuracy, transparency, and the public interest.
We cover power. That means we will publish stories that are uncomfortable, that challenge official narratives, and that name names — when we have the documentation to back them up. We do not publish speculation as fact. We do not publish unverified accusations against private individuals. We correct mistakes promptly and publicly.
Sourcing Policy
- Primary sources first. Court filings, government documents, FOIA releases, regulatory filings, and original data are always preferred over secondary reporting.
- Minimum two independent sources for any factual claim that is not supported by a primary document.
- All sources linked. Every factual claim links to its source. If a source cannot be linked publicly, it is disclosed as such.
- No anonymous sourcing without strong editorial justification disclosed to readers. We will state when a source has requested anonymity and briefly explain why we granted it.
- No republication without attribution. We always credit and link the original reporting we build upon.
- Original verbatim quotes are drawn only from on-record statements, transcripts, documents, or on-the-record interviews. We do not fabricate quotes.
What We Will Not Publish
- Accusations of specific crimes against identifiable private individuals without primary-source documentation.
- Content that denies or minimizes documented atrocities or mass casualty events.
- Content designed to harass, threaten, or endanger specific individuals.
- Fabricated quotes attributed to real people.
- Content that reproduces more than 50 words verbatim from a copyrighted source without explicit permission.
AI Disclosure Policy
NewsAnarchist uses AI tools in its editorial process. We believe full transparency about this is non-negotiable. Here is exactly how AI is used:
- Research and aggregation: AI tools monitor RSS feeds, Reddit, Hacker News, FOIA databases, and other public sources to surface stories of interest.
- Drafting: AI drafts articles under named editorial personas (see below). These drafts are reviewed for accuracy, sourcing, and editorial voice.
- Image generation: Article header images are generated by fal.ai, an AI image generation service. They are illustrative, not photographic.
- What AI does not do: AI does not independently verify facts, conduct interviews, or make final editorial decisions. All editorial judgment is exercised by the Publisher.
About Our Author Personas
All NewsAnarchist bylines represent AI-assisted editorial identities — consistent fictional personas each assigned a specific beat, voice, and credential background. This model follows the tradition of fictional editorial personas in publishing (pen names, house pseudonyms, and editorial characters have existed since the 18th century).
Each persona is:
- Explicitly disclosed as an AI-assisted editorial identity on this page and in site-wide disclosures.
- Assigned a specific beat and writing voice that is maintained consistently across all articles.
- Not intended to impersonate any real individual, living or dead.
The six founding NewsAnarchist editorial personas are: Marcus Webb, Elena Vasquez, Jordan Calloway, Diana Reeves, Sam Okafor, and Casey North. Full bios are on our About page.
Steve Ysreal Monas serves as Publisher and Editorial Director and is the sole human decision-maker in the editorial process.
Corrections Policy
When we get something wrong, we say so — clearly, quickly, and at the top of the affected article.
- Corrections are appended to the original article with a timestamp and a plain-language description of what was wrong and what the correct information is.
- We do not silently delete or alter articles to hide errors.
- Significant corrections are noted in our next newsletter edition.
- To submit a correction: corrections@newsanarchist.com
- All published corrections are archived at /corrections.html.
